IndiaTech HK Hack for India 2018

A week before the 2018 Pitch Day finals, IndiaTech HK organised a Hackathon, primarily for young professionals, entrepreneurial students. This event was held at HKU Idendron, an incubation lab at The University of Hong Kong on the 7th July 2018. It was a full day event: 9AM – 5PM.

There were about 60 young aspiring participants who were asked to come up with ideas on the spot to solve a practical issue that India is faced with. The issue they were asked to solve was “How can technology aggregate and improve public access to health care info?”

The participants formed groups and presented the ideas to an eminent panel that consisted of people from all walks of industries - Mr. Ajit John Joshua from CGI, Mr. Gautam Bordoli and Mr. Alok from FIPHK, Mr. Tony Chan and Renu Bhatia from Tie HK.

The students were presented with an opportunity to win a cash loot of HKD 8000 and an invaluable opportunity to present their ideas to investors themselves and could get funded on the spot should their ideas be actionable.

The winning prize of HK $8000 sponsored by MageSpire, was won by team "Golden Hour" for their solution on ambulance services in India. The other prizes included Membership of TiE Hong Kong
